Postdoctoral research

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia invites applications for:

Two postdoctoral research positions (3 years) are immediately available in Dr. Kevin Gregory-Evans' laboratory in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.   These positions are part of a CIHR Team focused on assessing novel molecular approaches in the treatment of retinal disease.   The Team comprises four Principal Investigators, two Research Associates, one Research Assistant and two graduate students.   We are seeking highly motivated individuals to undertake experimental work in pre-clinical molecular therapeutics in rodent models of retinal degeneration.   This will involve functional (electroretinography, optokinetic tracking) and histological (optical coherence tomography, immunohistochemistry and confocal imaging) assessments.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field.   Experience of independent research with rodent model systems is essential.   Experience in assessing visual function in rodent models of eye disease will be an advantage.   Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
